Taking Part (Technical questions)
How do I sign up?
It’s free to take part, just click sign up at the top of the page and follow the steps!
How old do you need to be?
Anyone can take part, the more the merrier. If you are under 18 you’ll need a parent or guardian to register and set up a fundraising page on your behalf.
Do I have to dance for a set amount of time?
We’re encouraging everyone to dance for at least 60 minutes each day of dance week or however long you want to. Whether you want to have a mini kitchen disco, take part in one of our free online classes or spend your hour learning the latest virtual dance craze, as long as you’re dancing your part of our crew!
If you can’t quite fit in an hour non-stop, you could break it up throughout the day or dance for a length of time that works for you!
Dancing isn't really my thing, can I do something else?
That’s the beauty of dance, it's designed for everyone! You don’t have to be learning a choreographed routine, doing the splits or foxtrotting round your living room. We’ll have some fun classes and routines for you to get involved in, or just put on your favourite tunes and dance round the room. If you’d like to fundraise for Barnardo’s in a different way you can view some of our other fundraising events here:.
Can I do any dance style?
You certainly can! Hip Hop, Tap, ballet, or just learning the latest viral dance routines, any and all types of dance are encouraged.
Do I have to post about my dancing on social media?
If you don’t feel comfortable you most definitely don’t have to. We encourage anyone that feels comfortable to post their daily dancing on social media using #BarnardosDanceChallenge. This is a great way to show your supporters what you’ve been up to while also connecting to the wider community. Join our Facebook Group and follow us on Instagram @barnardosfundraising. If you are under 18 make sure you have permission from a parent or guardian before posting anything online.
